NONTHABURI: A lawyer has asked police to take legal action against the well-known motivational speaker Orapim “Best” Raksapol, 26, for allegedly defaming northeasteners in a speech in the region early this year. The lawyer complained that Ms Orapim's speech cast doubt on northeasterners’ gratitude toward His Majesty the late King. A defamation conviction carries a jail sentence of up to two years in jail and a fine of up to 200,000 baht. Ms Orapim, 26 earlier said through media that she had no defamatory intention. She speaks frequently to audiences of young people throughout the country on topics such as ethics, morality and positive thinking.
